Kassie Weiland
LCSW, LPC, CFC, CTP, CAHIS
Hello. I'm Kassie.
If you are looking for a therapist that sits quietly and occasionally asks “How do you feel”?, then I’m not the therapist for you. I am interactive, solution-focused, honest, caring, and consider myself a bit eclectic. I believe all individuals are unique and my approach should be too.
My Story
I am licensed by the state of Michigan as a licensed professional counselor and a licensed clinical social worker. For over two decades I've worked with families, youth, seniors, and those with physical disabilities utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques to achieve
success with my clients.
Along with training in crisis intervention and youth mental health, I am
also certified in trauma therapy. Other certifications include the
National Association of Forensic Counselors, the National Trauma and
Loss in Children, and the Oakland University in Animal-Human
Intervention. I am also a Parent Project® facilitator, have been trained
by Josh Smith of the DBT Institute in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy,
and am trained in EMDR therapy.
Parent Project
I also offer two highly effective Parent Project® classes. The Parent Project was created specifically for parents with difficult or out-of-control adolescents. Parents learn and practice specific prevention and intervention strategies for destructive behaviors.
• Learn to never argue with your child;
• Improve school attendance and performance;
• Prevent alcohol and drug use; and
• Stop gang involvement.
Parent Project Jr. (also known as Loving Solutions) is a 10- week program designed specifically for parents raising strong-willed children, ages 5-10 years. Parent Project Senior is a 12-week program offered one day per week.
About Parent Project: Parent Project is the nation’s largest and most effective program for parents dealing with children’s and teens’ destructive behavior. In our 30 years, we have partnered with over 500,000 parents to teach prevention and intervention strategies for destructive behaviors from difficult or out-of-control children. Parent Project has been the subject of numerous academic studies, consistently showing significant improvement in parental knowledge and skills, reduction in youth destructive behavior, and increases in expressions of love in the home.
